This is Stephen Hawking’s book.
I listened to it over Christmas whilst playing a bit of GTA: San Andreas, particularly enjoying a bit of quarry action and, of course, a load of flying.
In Advanced Higher Physics, which I’m studying this year, we’ve talked a lot about the universe, including stars and black holes and all that gubbins. Astronomy really interests me, and this book neatly and simply presented the current state of our ideas of the universe (well, whenever the book was published). I’ll probably need to revisit the book and pay it a bit more attention, but I haven’t seen a better attempt at making the universe appeal to the masses in this way.
It’s good.
What the fuck are you doing?
A Conservative MP has alleged that police entered his Commons office without a search warrant demanding to see constituency correspondence.
Mr Kawczynski added: “I received a note from my office that there was a police officer in my office demanding to see correspondence.
“They were already present in my office and I went down to see them after making my speech.”
It’s been covered so much, but I’ll just add – I’m very glad that Obama was elected. He’s going to be good, or at least a lot better.
I watched the inauguration live, was boring, probably won’t do it again.
Al Franken – the author of this book – is currently caught up in a US senate election dispute reminiscent of the Bush/Gore 2000 election. This time, however, it looks like the good guy is going to win.
I was quite intrigued when I heard that Al Franken, previously to entering politics, worked as a comedian and author, and so I decided to quickly read one of his books.
This book, “Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot – and Other Observations”, along with “The Wisdom of Crowds” are two books that I read last week whilst doing other tasks, mostly playing Half-Life 2 and cooking. Anyway, while Al Franken’s writing was (at times) amusing, it was nothing special or even particularly interesting. I think it’ll be a while before I read another of his books.
