I was back out again last night with my camera and binoculars. On Monday it was rather mild for January, so I was happy to sit outside for half an hour in my t-shirt, whilst using my hoodie to fine-tune the positioning of my binoculars.
Nightime photography is incredibly hard on cheap compact digital cameras. You can't change the exposure time (on mine anyway), and so with the low light, the shutter tends to be open for several seconds. What this means: absolutely no movement, and that can take a ridiculously long time to get everything spot on.
