Of all the science-related documentaries that I have watched recently, almost all unfold in this way: Cite a generally well-believed statement on a particular topic. Seed doubt: ask "Or is it?" Spend the next 50 minutes showing an expert trying to walk and talk simultaneously, constantly interupted with CGI sequences repeated an obscene number of times. 12th February 2009Horizon – Why Do We Dream?I just watched last night's Horizon on the BBC iPlayer, called "Why Do We Dream?" I'm quite well versed in dreams, at least at the basic level that this program presents, but it's definitely something that I want to look into and learn more about. Most of all, I want to be able to control my dreams. I'll let you know how things progress.

1st February 2009Maths ChallengeI've been working on this Maths Challenge all day. It wasn't actually very hard this year, however it took a long time to think how to explain everything, particularly question 4. I got it all sorted in the end, though.

31st January 2009Maths ExamsYesterday was my Advanced Higher Maths prelim, my first official prelim, and probably my favourite subject. I like Maths exams. There are a lot of exams I don't like - French, Geography, and English (especially English, I hated it so much) - but I think that Maths exams are great. Now, they're only going to ask you about things which are based on the course, and thankfully there is a well defined course, but they can - and do - take things further than the basics.
